Description
Currently there is a number of preset colors available, and there is a color chooser dialog hidden somewhere in the menus. This has a number of drawbacks, as the set of predefined colors tends to be too small, the dialog gets in the way and modifications in the dialog only take effect when the dialog is closed.
Instead there should be an option to switch between the predefined palette and some kind of free color chooser, the way most graphical applications provide it. I'm primarily thinking along the lines of the GIMP wheel and triangle here.
As added benefits, the color chooser might be used for the background color as well, and if there is some space left (maybe due to smaller buttons), then it would be nice to have the most recently used (not simply selected) colors present in the palette as well.
Switching between the two could be done via menu or via tabs, whichever fits better. Might need some experimenting.
